My name is Christina Houston, originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. I am an author, faith-driven encourager, and someone who believes deeply in the power of healing, growth, and trusting God through every season of life. My journey has not been perfect, but it has been purposeful. Through my experiences, I have learned that peace is not something the world gives us—it is something we cultivate within our hearts through faith, perseverance, and surrender.

The inspiration behind writing my book Rooted in Peace came during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. In 2023, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of my mother, while at the same time my marriage was slowly falling apart. Shortly after, I was laid off from my job. It felt like everything that once felt stable in my life was being shaken. I found myself grieving, searching for direction, and trying to understand why so many life-changing events were happening all at once. During that time, I turned to prayer, reflection, and devotion. What I discovered was that even in the middle of chaos, God was planting something new within me—peace.

Way of healing

Writing became my way of healing. I began documenting my thoughts, prayers, and reflections as I worked through grief, disappointment, and uncertainty. Over time, those writings turned into the message that would eventually become Rooted in Peace. My goal was not to present myself as someone who had everything figured out, but rather as someone willing to be transparent about the process of healing and trusting God along the way.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning how to move forward while still carrying pain. It is not easy to remain hopeful when life feels overwhelming. There were days when doubt and fear tried to take over. However, through faith, support from others, and a commitment to personal growth, I learned that challenges can become the very soil where strength and purpose grow.

Rooted In Peace

Since sharing my story, I have been encouraged by the way it has resonated with others. Many people have reached out to say that the message has helped them reflect on their own journey and reminded them that they are not alone in their struggles. That has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.

Even today, I continue to face challenges like anyone else. Life is a continuous journey of learning, healing, and evolving. However, my goal moving forward is to continue inspiring others through writing, speaking, and creating spaces where people feel safe to grow in faith and self-discovery. I believe that when we allow ourselves to be rooted in faith, peace, and purpose, we can weather any storm that life brings.
